Explore Meg's Petersfield

Meg’s Petersfield, tucked away at 5a Chapel St, Petersfield GU32 3DT, United Kingdom, is the kind of local café that feels easy to settle into, whether you are stopping by for a relaxed breakfast, a mid-morning coffee, or a casual lunch in town. It has a charming, compact feel that suits Petersfield well, with a calm and comfortable atmosphere that makes it appealing for anyone who prefers a quieter place to eat rather than somewhere rushed or noisy. The menu seems to cover a wide range of café favourites, with breakfast, brunch, and lunch options giving people plenty of choice depending on the time of day, while the counter selection of cakes, pastries, sweet treats, and savoury bites adds even more temptation for those only wanting something light. Coffee appears to be one of the highlights here, regularly leaving a strong impression, and the pastry and snack selection helps create the sort of café people return to for simple pleasures done well. Among the savoury items, the traditional sausage rolls stand out as a particularly popular choice, while toasted sandwiches such as brie with bacon and cranberry show that Meg’s offers comforting combinations with a homemade café style. Service is another part of its appeal, with staff described as friendly, attentive, and helpful, giving the place a welcoming, local touch that can make even a short visit feel pleasant. Cleanliness also adds to the overall experience, with tidy facilities helping reinforce the sense that the café is well looked after. Although some individual dishes may occasionally feel a little uneven in balance, the overall impression is of a lovely little café with a warm personality, dependable coffee, a strong range of food options, and the kind of inviting atmosphere that suits anything from a quick stop for cake to a slower breakfast or brunch in the heart of Petersfield.

Love it at Meg’s! Have been a few times for a coffee and a cake/pastry. Always a great selection of both, would highly recommend the traditional sausage rolls! The service is good, always attentive and friendly. Definitely worth popping in!

I’ve been to Meg’s a few times for lunch or coffee and cake and we have never had a bad experience! The staff are lovely and can’t do enough for you! And the food is fab! The hazelnut latte and the blueberry iced matcha’s are a personal favourite! It’s a local gem! Highly recommend!

I decided to drop in for a late lunch after work between 2-2:30. Out of peak time it was lovely and quiet in Meg’s - a very calm atmosphere. The staff are all very friendly and efficient, and the furniture and cutlery etc, were spotless. The food itself was so delicious, I had a CBA sandwich which was served with lovely soft bread and high quality bacon and chicken, it also came with crisps and salad which had a great vinaigrette on it. Along with this I also had a vanilla milkshake which was flavoursome and not too thick or sweet, and a Milky Way Rice Krispie cake which was very generously portioned, tasty, and not a jawbreaker either! Thought the food was fairly priced for what I received as well. Highly recommend Meg’s for a gathering or a solo lunch. Would love to try their breakfast next!!

My husband organised a surprise afternoon tea for my 40th birthday back in December at Meg's. It was a really lovely occasion, food was delicious and well presented and there was more than what we needed. The service was really good and staff very friendly and accommodating. It was a really busy Saturday afternoon just before Christmas so the café was really busy, but that made the atmosphere even better!
